Well, a PB for a photo I wasn't even going to enter. My intent was to enter the Industrial challenge with this pic //www.flickr.com/photos/thecolliers/4838849763/in/set-72157620825660018/, but I decided to try a couple of shots for the meals challenge as well. Apparently it was a good idea since I had taken the linked photo a day too early for the challenge.

As for this photo, I wasn't happy with the lighting either, as a few people mentioned. That is why I wasn't going to enter it. My wife convinced me to enter it anyway as we both thought the idea was a good one. Unfortunately with so many people around, including a half a dozen kids, the opportunities for trying a retake were non-existent.

A summer salad

Don't like the DOF. Pretty much makes the whole plate a blur thus hiding the more interesting elements.

Honey, lunch is ready

The bee is too small and hard to notice (my wife didn't even see it till I pointed it out). There is little detail in the darks which also hides details of the flower and the bee.

That being said, it is a decent picture that I think had the potential to be a great one.

I prefer Burger and Giant Beer, but hey, I am still getting hungry. Nice composition and nice DOF to make the burger stand out.

I think a better title would have been "Where's the beef?"

That border is brutal on the eyes. Very distracting. A thin read line would have done the job much better.

Pretty looking dish, but the lighting could be improved a little to make the colours a little brighter. The red under the table is slightly distracting as well.

Good effort though.
