Columnsby pasaroComment: I like this subject; strong structure against a soft sky & the light and shadow amplifies the columns architecture, but I was left wishing there were a third column on the left side of the shot. Maybe a portrait layout would change that. Also, a single column shot smack dab in the middle of this blue sky would be clean, simple & effective as well...then you would have a giant single concrete DNA strand. You could easily have two great shots here if you split the two colums and made two portrait shots - the right column dead centre, and the left column cropped to show a wide blue void on the far right. I'm no expert, but this is what I see as possiblities. One more thing, a longer exposure would have made the clouds more whispy looking reinforcing the strong/soft appeal. |

"Monster" Rotundaby nsmithComment: I truly wish there were structures where I lived that had this much charm and character. Well done. If I had any critique, I would like to have seen more depth of colour tone to enhance the murals - perhaps a light/shadow tweek or a curves adjustment would work. |

The Citadelby shutterpuppyComment: The building is certainly very interesting. I wonder if there is a way to shoot this structure dead on with no other buildings in the frame? Either way, good eye for detail and perspective. I find the lower right building takes away from an otherwise cool shot. |

120 Years Youngby BudComment: I'm liking this angle. Most people would shoot it square on, but this angle gives it that "spiderman with a camera" feel. |

On the Stairsby orianaComment: I like the uniquness of this angle/perspective, however I personally would have cropped this one down so that the angle of the stair rail was an exact diagonal from top left to bottom right. You would not have lost any of the important detail, but would have given the shot an architechtual balance. |

Blurred Interlude by jjbeguinComment: I was just surfing thru the site and saw the thumbnail of this shot. Even as a thumbnail this one stands out far and above the rest. I don't think you could have picked a more appropriate setting for your self portrait, as the rugged surroundings only enhances you and your candid glory. Some of my favourite shots are my accidental shots, and your accidental self portrait is a prime example of a "right time, right place" magical moment. Cheers, Sandra. |

Days End On The Bendby BrianRComment: I like this, even though it reminds me of a Hawaiian shirt print. The oversaturation and oversharpend treatment gives it a 50's feel. I think it suits the image, but others might find it too overprocessed. |
