A billion people, 3 times a dayby AntepaterComment: Great POV, lighting, focus and detail. The DOF works well with the chopsitcks. My faults with this are the shadows at the top and the dark spot in the lower left. If those were not in the picture I'd rate this very high. |

Salt & Pepperby puyaComment: Neat salt and papper shakers. I like the reflections on them and that they do not reveal much of their environment (room photographer etc). The duotone/sepia also works amazingly well. |

Fork & Knifeby RoosterComment: Incredible lighting effects make the utensils appear to glow (or maybe it's just some dodging effects that are responsible). The reflections of the tines in the knife make the fork look complete. I wish that more of the subject was in focus. |

Nut and Boltby orussellComment: Lighting on the subject seems to be perfect but on the background surface is a different story. Seems washed out on the right side. I would have preferred a smoother gradation and a smaller hotspot. Perfect focus and amazing details, though. |

Coffee and Creamby PDavisComment: Nice perspective in this entry. The DOF applied to the coffee beans is also excellent. I'm not a fan of the shadow across the right third of the coffee in the mug. If the lighting was more even across the entire mug, I'd rate this higher. |

Duck to Waterby crabappl3Comment: Nice action shot of the duck in flight. Good application of DOF. However, my one complaint is the use of noise as I think I'd prefer it without. |

almostby leafComment: Nice details and textures and sharp focus, too. A bit of a stretch to fit the challenge, in my opinion, but excellent interpretation, nonetheless. Very original. 8. |

Battered Ball, Worn-out Gloveby HRoxasComment: Great concept and sepia lends well to the "antique feel". I almost wish it was a bit brighter but it's not that big a deal. Excellent focus, too. |

Industry&Pollutionby geewhyComment: Great concept! I can relate to that well since I live in Los Angeles and we have terrible smog problems. The only issue I have with this entry is compression. It is most present on the second smaller burn-off stack. It seems a bit blurry and pixelated. |
