old friendsby mrsamsaComment: Originally posted by jdannels: Time is relative, Old friends are just that and this moment seemed to capture it very nicely. I was your ten vote. :) a subtle take on the challenge but I really liked it. don't let it get you down, better luck next time, underrated in my opinion. :) |
I didn't vote on the challenge and I agree underrated, its a great candid capture! It's very hard to please these people over here lol |

No it's not rough at all, in fact its a pink-y colour... I think the convertion to black and white and because its a close up, makes it seem as if it's rough =) |

It is nice to see you entering challenges on a regular basis. This makes me even happier about the membership. This is a very cool shot, and I think that it would do very well in a low-key challenge. I also think that it should have done better here, but these voters are tough to figure out some days. Overall, I do not think that the image is too dark, but the dark spot on the hand that is near the middle of the frame really grabs the eye and holds onto it. It also looks like that thumb is just a little too close to the camera. I think that lengthening your depth of field, thus bringing that thumb into focus, would have helped your score a little. Looking through the challenge, I am really baffled that this didn't finish higher. Nice work, and keep shooting. What matters is that YOU like the end product. High scores are just a nice bonus sometimes.

Thanks for the support Eric!! Well at the end of the day I got a fave for this and that made me happy, at least 1 person liked it regardless of its faults hahahahahaha it could have been improved I knew from the time I entered but there you go... score actually went up last minute by the looks of it which is odd as usually it goes down lol so I'm happy with this finish |

To be honest this is bang on what I thought too, unfortunetly I wasnt feeling well on that day and I didn't carry on shooting |

Print.jpgby thomaspeopleComment: I really like this 1!! Very cool shot, to be honest I slightly disagree with muz's comment, I think that the reflected glare and the slightly tilted surface adds alot of dynamic to the shot. The tilt helps to bring a lead in from focused area that gently leads your eyes to the blurred end of the pic, its a nice and gentle transition and the glare helps to that effect from a dark area to lighter =) |
