Lead Screwby travis_cooperComment: Composition a bit off (too much blurred foreground) but I like the colours here. But I don't understand it for a minute I'm afraid. |

T i M B e R by sherpetComment: Very good. Colours seem a touch on the faded side I must say (maybe saturation could go up a bit? I don't think the lighting helps) and this is probably just a touch over-sharpened. Otherwise excellent. |

Lending a helping hand ...by funkyfunkComment: A lovely mess of subtle tones and bokeh. Well composed. However I don't think many people are going to 'get it'. I suppose the pencil is helping the growth of the plant? Still, you get high marks from me for producing a real bit of photography in a challenge that almost seems designed to remove any artistic flair, emotion or individualism. |

B o o k m a r kby bnileshComment: The colours here are quite interesting. All in all quite a pleasant macro that could do with perhaps a narrower DoF to add interest. |

matchby jilly_mComment: Honestly? Too small, too blurry, not executed well enough. |

WHAT?? Didn't you get my MEMO??by surfdabblerComment: Nice use of depth of field, the pencil has a nice perspective to it. Lighting a little on the harsh side perhaps and the figure doesn't really blend in the with the background as well as he might. |

Shadowthrower (2 AM or PM?)by OculusComment: I'm slightly confused by your title, presumably there aren't that many places in bright sunlight at two in the morning?! The idea is an interesting one but I'm not convinced by it andI tihnk the focus is a little off as well (the 1 seems sharper than the pencil). |

The Pencilberry Bushby posthumousComment: Not a bad idea by any stretch but I think it could have been better executed - the pencil seems totally disconnected from the bush so the effect is lost. |

Twigby NodeComment: Oh very good. Watch your background though, on my (terrible) screen the blackness starts to fade in the bottom left. |

Take Out #2by JerseyGenieComment: Very nice idea and well presented, let down a little by lack of contrast and flat lighting. |
