it's a nice photo, but a disappointing commentary on this site when you say "...I don't personally like the picture very much and find it creatively non-rewarding." i find that many of the photos on here fill that niche, and the photos that are creatively compelling are often not those that score well. (that's not to say i don't like 90% of the ribboning photos; i'm just saying in general, most people need to shoot differently for ribbon purposes than they would for purely aesthetic goals. sad.)

excellent photo, though. i find it not only technically sound, but visually pleasing. you sell yourself short, i think.

brilliant. i spend 3 minutes trying to figure out what the blotch on her forehead was, and then it all became clear (literally) once i gave my monitor a vigorous wipe. stupid dust on the screen.

great shot.

damn voters. this shot is unbelievably good.

i bet if you'd copied countless other pictures, i.e. by placing a glass sheet with drops of water on it in front of your lens, people would suddenly appreciate this a lot more.

apparently, if a shot doesn't conform to a formula, it's no good, no matter how technically impressive and artfully striking it is.

what a sweet picture. i definitely would have placed this one well ahead of all the hackneyed wine-glass-on-colored-background shots. original, technically sound and relevant.

i can't believe that there are people giving pictures like this 1s, 2s and 3s. while it's maybe not the most technically impressive piece of work ever, it's certainly sound in that department, and it's more creative than the average pic.

i swear, i just don't get voters. unless it's somebody who entered this challenge and then voted everybody else a 1 in hopes of springboarding themselves up the charts, i'm just flummoxed.

solid pic, by the way.

way to infuse some originality into this challenge. it's easy to go obvious during macro challenges.
