Interesting idea and it does fit the challenge however there's not a sharp enough focus on the part that is supposed to be in focus and there's a part of that where the highlights are completely blown.

Interesting capture though I find it hard to determine what is the main subject . I guess it's the eyes in the upper right but due to the brightness the ones on the right also draw attention even though are slightly out of focus. This I find a bit distracting.

The bird is nicely isolated with the DOF however I feel the branches in front of the bird are distracting and that there just too many that are in or close to focus and make the image feel cluttered.

The line of the rail is very strong and leads the viewer right into the image. However, I feel there is something missing from the shot. Maybe it would have more impact if there was a person or animal walking along the rail away from the photographer. The image being slightly tilted to the left is a bit distracting as well.

I think the amount of DOF in this shot is perfect. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the deep shadow on the face of the duck in focus. Using the highlight/shadow adjustment or levels/curves may help with bring out more detail in that area.

The DOF works well to isolate the gentleman however with him looking at the camera I feel that there is no connect between him and the lady and the background.

I like the composition and the bokeh however I think the image is lacking a bit in contrast. Levels/curves would help with that.
