Taking A Dive by MarcusArmaniComment: The bird really pops with the choice of DOF though the sparkle in the eye seems to be missing. The diagonal makes the image dynamic though I feel the angle is a little too acute. Also, I would like to see more to give the image context. As it is, the bird is floating with no connection to it's environment. |

Morningby coryxmortonComment: I like the nostalgic feel of the image however feel the DOF chosen is a little too shallow. I think having the entire cup/saucer (at least the parts visible to the camera) in focus. Having a slightly deeper DOF would give definition to the background to show context and provide a bit more of a story. |

On The Islandby deblurComment: I like these type of shots. Even though the bloke in the background is OOF he is engaging the photographer. The foreground fellow is nice and sharp. As far as placement in the frame I think the space on the left puts the image a little off balance. Cropping to a square I think would work well here. |

Gentle Whispersby aimeethetooComment: I like these glimpses into the centre of flowers. The DOF is just right, showing detail in the middle and slowing softening as it reaches to the outer petals. |

Because I CANby lovethelightComment: Very sharp on the boy's face and the DOF is just deep enough so his head doesn't look like it's floating in the frame. |

The Center Of My Worldby macrothingComment: Interesting approach. Even though the egret is centered the image is quite dynamic due to the angle of the branch and the stance of the bird. I'm not sure if I like the blown out background but maybe if the bird stood out more the background would fit in better. |

Brunchby Emotion5ickne55Comment: Is that a strawberry and a grape? Not that it matters.
The DOF is shallow and the rule of thirds is being employed however the lighting is a bit flat. Also the focus on the grape(?) seems a bit soft. |

Lilyby jmosherComment: I like the razor thin DOF and the droplets are quite sharp. However, my eye is drawn to the top of the stamen. I wonder if the image would be better with just a little more DOF so that part is more in focus. |

natural velcroby deepfrog17Comment: Good sense of winter comes from this scene. I like the choice of DOF however the main subject is a bit too central for me. A little lower and to the left I think would work much better. By getting a higher angle on the shot would get more separation between the in focus object and the OOF background object. |
