On the fenceby alexjackComment: Good use of shallow DOF and diagonal lines. Also, both the foreground post and the antlers are quite sharp. However, I feel that the image needs more light on the in focus area, fill flash maybe. |

Orchid's Mouthby donenrightComment: The colour of the flower against the black background works well and the focus on the end of the petal is nice an sharp. I wonder if the shot would be more dynamic if the perspective was down the petal into the flower. |

Where else to play?!?by CyMaNComment: The area of focus is quite sharp though I feel it is too narrow. Also, by putting this area in the centre makes the image quite static. If the area of focus were closer to the bottom of the frame (on the third line or below) and slightly to the right the image would be much more dynamic. |

European starlingby bormicComment: This starling looks cold. Nice sharp focus however I feel the image could improve with the use of slightly wider DOF, to gain a bit of definition in the background and add context as well as a bit more sparkle in the eye. |

Who?Me?by nemesise1977Comment: Now he's a poser. The background is blurred just enough to keep the shape but not detract from your subject. The bright dot just above his right ear is a bit distracting though. |

dimesby electinaComment: Good concept though the dime in focus is too central (for me) and shooting straight into the lines of dimes makes the image quite static. If the lines of dimes were on the diagonal and the dime in focus were in the upper right corner I think the image would be much more dynamic. |
