Behind the Flameby sfmorrisComment: Unique interpretation of the challenge. I never thought of flames as transparent but sure enough they are. The man in the back looks like a painting and also like he's on fire. I wish you had posed him better. I think it's the gloved hand on the swing side that bothers me. 7 |

Into the water and beyondby JudiComment: Beautiful picture that meets the challenge very well. Now I wish I had gone to our local tidepools to shoot for this. Can't wait to see where this was shot. I wish you had more width in it. 7 |

A smashing time!by didlessComment: I hope that is ice. If it's glass it's really thick and sharp! Nice timing and stop motion. |

Ghost Creekby limerickComment: This is really a beautiful picture. I'm not sure it shows transparency. The creek is reflective. Maybe the fog, but it turns opaque very fast. 6 based on the nice picture and border. Higher if I felt it met the challenge. |

Autumn Illusionby DJWoodwardComment: I sympathize with you. I didn't vote in this challenge, but if I had seen this I would have thought it was right-side up with a lawn on bottom, shaded wall and building even after looking at it for a while. It was just too perfect with no leaves or ripples in the water. Of course it's really obvious when you see the original unrotated image. If we had seen some more orientation detail "below" the lawn or if there were some floating leaves people would have gotten it. It wouldn't have been as nice a picture in original orientation, but it would have helped people figure it out. |

I Am My Work -- the Thorn that Weeps, & Holds the Sky Entire...by Bear_MusicComment: This is an excellent photo, Bear. I think it is a good example of the benefits of formula voting. For quite a while I voted by formula based on meets challenge, technical merit, composition and wow factor, and this would have probably gotten a 6 based on that. I eventually thought that was too scientific (objective) for an art (subjective) endeavor and have switched to more of an overall impression of the picture combined with meeting challenge and I would have probably given it a 4 (nice picture but DNMC) or if I thoughtfully considered the title maybe a 5 or even a 6 based on that. |

Blizzard Outside - Hot Insideby treimeeComment: I love the snow and the store and empathize with your feelings about someone always getting in the way of the perfect shot. I think this and many others would have done much better if there was actually someone window shopping. |

Toy storeby MelethiaComment: Congratulations on the ribbon on your entry Deb, though this one would have definitely been a contender also and difficult to choose between. I love this one. You are living in an excellent place to find great windows like this. |

Ringby sam_13Comment: Lots of this theme in this challenge, but I suppose it's a natural pick. You could have picked a more fitting book to put it in and it isn't as sharp as the others. |
