There's No Place Like Homeby tennernieComment: Good shot. One of your best on DPC I think. :) I found the cropping a little odd, but it works with the photo. Probably not what I would have done, but its really good in this case.
When you do selective desaturation though, usually you create a B&W layer and then mask the color parts for the photo, instead of lowering the different colors channels to zero. Sometime if you have some red in the other parts of the photo, it can look weird. |

Flower Tattooby tennernieComment: Awesome photo. :) You've captured the hand texture well with the available light. |

Abstractby AgaerisComment: Thanks Chaimelle, abstracts usually do pretty sucky on dpc. But thanks for the comment.
whats funny is that greyscale by definition IS black & white. Not only that it was a color image and I did a photoshop channel mixer to black and white on it.
Just another case of a dumb person on DPC challege who looks at a photo for 3 seconds and makes a judgement. Message edited by author 2008-09-05 14:39:27. |

THE GAMBLER : Tacloban Slums, Philippinesby hotpastaComment: Amazing shot. Really. Very underrated. The emotion, the colors, the feeling of the photo is so well done.
I would maybe a tad less on the contrast, but thats just personal preference I think. :)
anywho, grats on the great shot. |

Blue in Winterby david_cComment: I would crop a little differently here. Crop out the wood pylons in the river on the bottom. Overall, though I like the feel of this photo. 6 |
