Blush by Ja-9Comment: Ethereal and light .. filled with movement. Wonderful effect created by the fade from dark to light.

Pink Ladies by KarenNfldComment: Beautifully executed and an amazing shot given the editing constraints. Amazing shot if it had been advanced editing! |

East Coast Morningby KarenNfldComment: I really love this photo - the rugged landscape speaks to the life of so many who used to make their living on/by the sea - beautifully composed - I would love to visit there.

Don't Jump! by PennyStreetComment: What an amazing photo .. the sense of depth makes me feel as though I am actually in danger of falling .. so well composed and photographed and in basic editing you got such clear focus and a fantastic b&w .. congratulations and so well deserved.

Deflowered by KarenNfldComment: How tedious the task of making sure all the parts were arranged so perfectly .. right down to the small tear on the matching side petals .. delicate, creative and, as usual, photographed perfectly. Congratulations. |

chased the shouting wind along by vawendyComment: Seagulls are one of the most common birds seen on all coasts and probably the most photographed and under-rated.
They were my mother's favorite bird and my brother even had an oil paining of one done for her (years ago, she has long since passed) because we could never find a photo that showed them in all their beauty.
I probably have about 20 of them in my collection and some I am quite proud of and others are just close up of head shots with the sunlight making their beaks glow.
I even did a rather extensive search to find the perfect shot of a seagull that would show them as equal to any bird that flies - nothing ever really stood out until this shot.
I have no idea how Wendy ever got the feathers to show in such amazing detail, the bird to look at her just at that perfect moment, the sky to compliment all the tonal range in the bird but I have no doubt if there was ever a global competition to photograph a seagull this one would win first prize. The only other photographer I found who would come close is a woman called Mindy Dick. Her shots also tell a story. She might come in second. Message edited by author 2011-04-01 20:15:37. |
