Very harsh, direct light. Try this same shot with natural light, and open up the apeture for less DOF.. and try some diff angles

i think a different time of day would help this shot out a bit.. around sunrise/set.. with some richer colors.

also.. i dont know about the little bit of road you got in on the left side of the photo.. maybe adjusting you position could help out the composition.
