A rather uninteresting composition, saved by the ray of sunlight on the face. However, I don't think it's enough overall to maintain the interest.

Lack of eye contact makes this image very low-key... I wonder how the exact same pose (head tilted forward) would have looked with direct eye contact.

Well, one of my favs in this challenge, so low placed at 5.55 and no comments on top of that! Unbelievable. Here's a comment though: excellent image, great colors that somehow make me think of old iron and rust, which works so well with the bridge in the distance. Very good contrast water/sky/clouds and excellent detail in the sky. My guess it was voted down due to the unconventional harsh look, and the noise in the sky (which I personally like a lot, but what can you do...)

This is an excellent image, from the choice of subject (the tree), additional elements (the bench and silhouette), composition, B&W processing, square crop, and tones. The dark corner makes it a bit unbalanced, but maybe that was your intention.

It's an excellent shot, one of my favs in the challenge so far. Strong composition, but I think that the subject is a bit small, especially given size restrictions at DPC. On a huge poster, this would look fantastic. Also, I think there is too much mid-range gray in the image. Deeper blacks would "anchor" it better.

Excellent capture - so full of expression! It's interesting that everything is cropped - both the man and the sign. It feels a bit unbalanced and creates some rather empty space in the bottom left though... However, this somehow contributes to the "tension" in the image so maybe that's what you went for in the first place.

I do believe this is the very first time that I like the effect of a huge obvious border. It enhances the great contrast in the image, and the black and white also bring out the beautiful colors in the sunset.

The drain in the middle either makes tho photo, or ruins it... Excellent eye to see the similarity in texture between it and the buildings. I guess it works for me. Nice muted blue and yellow colors too.

I really like the composition and the muted colors. Very moody image - in a good way. The only thing I have small doubts on is the rather strange purple tone in the top. I just also noticed the reflection of the clouds in the water - excellent detail.

Comment:
I wonder why you felt the need to make the handbag the focus of the image. The very narrow aspect ratio also focuses the attention on it. I feel that instead I would rather see a bit more of the environment. I think the capture is good enough to stand without the colored bag.
