The emptiness of your composition leaves a strong feeling of loneliness and despair. Suggestion: try converting it to B&W and increase contrast. We lose a lot of detail in the dark areas in your color shot and you could probably restore some of it in B&W. But, in my opinion, a good photo is able to convey a feeling and yours certainly did that for me.

Either you are a very lucky photographer or this was staged... Either way, the shot is great! You really stopped the moment. With the goggles flying out, you can imagine the pain. OUCH!
