Please - someone rob a bank!by ImagineerComment: Though you may get some comments to the contrary, I like the faded, yellowish colors. It looks like a photo from the early 80s... and I know those pictures bore me! |

Self Portraitby glodaComment: If euskadi gave you a 10, where did it go? Looks like zero 10s on the board to me. Anyway, yes, nice photo. I agree that the lighting coul dbe improved... need more contrast by making the light more intense. This could have been accomplished in the camera with a longer shutter/widder app, but then you would have over exposed the shoulder. I'm guessing that your shoulder was pretty close to the light source? The neck and arm aren't overdone. So move the source a little further away so it's not too intense in any one area and get a brighter exposure.
Here's a bonus idea... since the challenge is about pain... immitate sweat with some baby oil. |

Old Western Authority by DiscraftComment: Thank you for submitting a quality high contrast photo. I rated this photo very high and am glad it ribboned. I've seen so may people submit a crappy photo with high contrast, noise, or some other gimmik then they whined because they scored low claiming people on this site don't like a photo if it's not someone's kid or puppy. Thank you for showing us the right way to do it! |

"This looks like a job for..."by grainman9Comment: Blurr man? Who? OH! Now I see the figure... Might want to include a bit more of him in the shot... the sightlines draw strongly toward the blurry shadow rather than the "super hero"
What kind of authority does a superhero have anyway. "Here robin, wash my lederhosen or I'll zap your Zima with my lazer eyes" or "You, there, beautiful lady tied to the trailroad tracks, kiss me or no rescue for you" |

Oldest of them All...by echo68phComment: not only the oldest authority, but quite possibly the oldest Bible too! I like this photo. Iw ould suggest cropping out the wood stand entirely though. The orangy background is a real nice texture and color. The wood is neither a good texture or color. The white reflection is especially distracting. Maybe if there was a cloth over it or something it would be more appealing, but my suggestion for a simple solution is to crop the left right up to the edge of the "H" and a little off the right for balance. And finally, perhaps a WB adjustment or a warmer light on the bible cover, the contrast to the background is nice but it's a bit too harsh. Maybe it's just the reflection from the spine. |
