Lofty foundation in Deathby unknowndeathComment: I gave it five because I liked it so much but I'm fair and I couldn't see a multiple light source. Outside the challenge you would have got higher from me. I don't blame you for the dead bird. It is beautiful. |

Drowning Madnessby unknowndeathComment: Art, pure and simple. Viewing your portfolio tonight, has lifted me from the doldrums of DPC. Thanks!

Tres Bouganvillaby autoolComment: This is a gorgeous studio shot of this subject. The colors really sing. I'm not crazy about the framing. I think simply rotating it clockwise and cropping it a bit at the left (so it's more off-center) would make a much stronger composition. As it is it sort of feels like it might fall out of the frame. |

Proud Parent of Threeby flip89Comment: What makes this a notch above run-of-the-mill is not just the beautiful exposure and detail on the birds feathers (particulalry the cygnets downiness) but the wonderful attitude the cygnet that is off on its own is displaying. He's the bad boy of the trio. Just look how well behaved the other two are being! Really cute in a natural way. |

Ships IIIby ellamayComment: This ships were just a bit too far off in the distance otherwise this would have worked a little better for me. As it is, it's a pretty great shot. |

Just for funby johnmkComment: I like the yellow boat against the monochromatic surroundings. The three spouts are fun. Great shot. |

Waiting for Playersby NeuferlandComment: I really liked this shot although it took me awhile to really decide that. I kept trying to figure out what about the composition appealed to me. It shouldn't work really because the chairs are leading the eye to an empty wall. But then I thought about all those dirty smudges on the wall and decided they tell a story about the players and the game. It's an unusual composition and I have a feeling I'm going to be in the minority (grain is practically taboo here) but I hope this does well for you. It's in my top three. |

Rainy sundayby TedvandenBerghComment: I love this. I love the color and clarity of the umbrella and the placement of the figure off in the distance. It tells a simple story, evokes a mood, and is beautiful to look at. This is my top pick. |

Stanley Cup Playoffsby rogerspaulComment: Not a particularly interesting subject. Perhaps if the background were simpler. The hanging planter reduces this to a snap-shot. I"m not sure if the clear acrylic is part of the game but it is also rather disstracting. d |
