Bug Catcherby EdGhotiComment: Originally posted by santaspores: Ed, this is a lovely shot!!
If you want to remove the grain from the background (make it look smoother) look into a piece of software called NeatImage. I only mention it because you said you had no editing experience. A vast number of people use this software to clean up big expanses of color in their backgrounds. cheers. |
Thank you for the comment and advice, I'll look into the software you suggested.
All the best,

Ogden Point shorebirdsby WinkComment: Great shot Wink.
I really like the use of the water as a translucent background above the subjects.
All the best,

Vapourby EdGhotiComment: Thanks for the comment Wink.
My feet were firmly on the ground, think this was the result of excessive moisture rather than speed, as it was a rather damp and miserable day at the air show.

The Chase Part 2by EdGhotiComment: Originally posted by Wink: Boy, did you ever happen to be there at the right time. My heart's still pounding, and it doesn't look like the little one is going to have much of a chance. |
Thank you for your comment Wink.
I was very lucky in terms of the amount of cats I saw but also what I managed to see them doing. As for the prey, I never really gave it much consideration, I was biased towards the carnivores...cheetahs have been my favourite animals since I was a kid. At any rate, it didn’t really have a chance; there was a third cheetah behind these two.
All the best,

The End of the dayby EdGhotiComment: Originally posted by Wink: Nice photo, full of fine detail and good subject composition. I'd be tempted to run it through some curves or levels but that's an artistic choice. Well done. |
Thank you for your comment Wink.
If you could run it through some curves or levels and then post your results with an explanation I would truly appreciate it.
All the best,
