life = noun
;)
i like the minimalist approach here but the right part of the clove isnt as sharp as it could be. |

Fox Gloveby SimaxComment: Nice idea and transition but the background is way to distracting with all those oof highlights that it takes away from the subject. I hear (because i'm no flower photographer) that some carry a large peice of black or white card around when out and put it behind the flowers when taking a shot - i think this would have benefitted a lot from that technique. |

water, water, everywhere, why must we pay to drink? by tateComment: Congrats on the ribbon - an interesting concept well executed. Just as something to ponder - i think you over Neat Imaged this one - the sky looks strange (blocks of blur with sharp lines of contrast just to the right of the money in the bottle) and the detail of the hand and bottle has been plasticised too much. imo of course (i know water looks nice after NI - i've used that trick before) ;) |

Life into Lifeby lunachickenComment: i think a little more dof or slight shift of focus so the teeth and fly are crisp would have nailed this shot. Very nicely done and not one for the eye candy lovers here ;) |

Oh Porcelain God, I Pray to Thee!by ZeusComment: Sorry but i think you missed what religion ACTUALLY means - religion is not just about believing in a particular god - look up the dictionary definition and you will see something which might open your eyes - religion is not christianity, christianity is a religion. Take your own personal religion - christianity or whatever completely out of the equation and try to be objective about this photo. Religious practices worldwide have a rather strange coincidence about them - most religions state that when praying you should in some way prostrate yourself infront of your god as a sign of deference and reverence or whatnot... am i wrong?
Now when artistic interpretation of a theme comes into play (that is why we are competing in these challenges - and please correct me if i am wrong) and when the english language provides a colloquial expression using religious terminology - surely the "religious" pose of praying and the expression meet in a well conceived interpretation of the theme.
Personally i think people were, in this challenge, too caught up in their own religious righteousness to realise that when looking at the THEME and some pictures (including my own) they forgot that we are here for artistic interpretation on a theme - not a subjective application of religious values and preconceptions on a photo.
I didnt vote on this image but i surely would not have given it any less than a 4 - which is what the majority of voters seemed to think it was worth.
Originally posted by whiterook: I agree with you but at the same time. This image doesn't fit in the challenge. God is good getting stoned drunked drunk is evil. I know God forgive your sins but I don't believe you can find God in the toilet!
Originally posted by CoinCounter: I liked the idea, the photo wasn't particularly well captured, but I thought it was a mildly amusing, unconventional idea. And certainly didn't deserve all those 1's.
Quite frankly, I think some people need to lighten up.
The world is full of different people with different ideologies and in this sort of artistic arena, unless you come here with an open mind and an acceptance of that, you will always find yourself offended, especially when it comes to topics such as religion. | |

Chef Jby lauraodomComment: Very fun shot and nicely executed... the icing on the cake, so to speak, would be a child's toy in the supplies in the foreground ;) |

Fab Four Free Fallby EssAreDubyaComment: I've no idea how you did this but it looks great :) Only criticism would be that it isnt completely centred with the black space on the left larger than that on the left |
