Also the lens you are using isn't wide enough to get a good dramatic landscape (not sure if it really mattered on this one since you seem to have fit everything in the photo). As a rule on landscapes you shouldn't place your horizon (in this case the bridge) right in the middle of the photo. With a shutterspeed as slow as 1/100 you should be using a tripod to get your photos sharp. If I was taking this picture I would have upped to aperture, and upped the ISO so that my shutterspeed would be faster.

Sorry it probably seems I am picking the photo apart. It really is a nice pleasant picture. Just giving you some tips for the future.

No, please pick it apart! lol This is exactly what I wanted! So thank you so much. You are very helpful, and will help me to get better shots in the future. I will try again with your advice and see what I get...Thank you again!!

Thanks! This was taken a long time ago....I needed more light on the brides face for sure...and although a lot of critique's were that I shouldve cropped out the window, I loved the light coming through, so thats where it fell off in the challenge I believe...

i agree, you may have gotten more of a "star" in the flare with the lens closed down too.

Yea, I realize now I should have had my aperture to about f16, would have sharpened, and made that light give the star flare as you said... Im going to go back and try again...Thanks for the critiques yall! :)

It's a bunch of wine glasses sitting on cardstock paper under light...

I really love this one. The exposure is perfect! Great background, and beautiful subject! Perfect lighting on the subject as well!

Thanks EL-ROI!!!
I think so too! I feel I need a class in Photoshop, although I have used it and played around in it, all self taught, and I truly dont know what Im doing. As far as shooting, I know I have an eye, but the post processing is what I lack, oh a indoor lighting...

Wonderful job with the shot. I'm sure you had to be very patient to find the right time to shoot your subject. Love the portrait orientation and the composition of your subject demands it. You did great to get the eye in the top right third and I like how the diagonal line of the beak leads me through the rest of the image. I think the depth of field is good and serves to separate the subject from the background well. Your camera work was done very well with a fine eye toward composition.

For post processing, I would like to see the bird a little brighter. Bring some fill light into the situation with a few adjustment layers like levels and brightness/contrast while masking off the background. You can also work the eye a bit to make it pop and really create that focal point.

Overall a quality photo worthy of a spot on the wall at any beach house in the world!

A little selective lightening of the RH side and the eye would improve it.
May sound silly but landscape will always win out against portrait orientation for me.
Hope this doesn't sound harsh I am trying to give an honest opinion of what I see.

I take all criticism contstuctive, harsh or not harsh. Im glad you gave it. THank you so much.
