double mint twins are back. double the actionby kaarissaaComment: I like the overall setting and composition. Nice use of the stairs, without overdoing. I do not like the facial expressions however, and they are quite fundamental in portraits. Furthermore, the crop is pretty tight on the left hand side and you leave a stretch of white on the right hand side. (4) |

Batman and Robbin were gay anyway...by boysetsfireComment: This is a funny snapshot, I imagine you had fun taking it. And I do like the concept of taking the picture from the other side. But still, it is a snapshot, with distracting backgrounds and all kinds of people in the picture that have nothing to do with the picture. A tighter cropped would have helped a little. (5) |

Company by alyamiComment: This is a weird picture and I'm still wondering whether I like it. At least you got me wondering, that's cool. I think I do like the concept, but it might have worked better with a slightly smaller group, let's say two thirds of this one. ALso, I think that the backlight does not wotk out too wel, blowing out the 2nd guy on my right, and leaving the dark suites so dark that they loose detail. (7) |

Yeah, im over hereby renefunkComment: Not much of a group portrait imo, rather a picture of a group. Many members of the 'group' are behind other members or cut of from the picture. The picture contains too many elements to look at and has no clear composition to lead the viewer's eye thruogh it. The use of DOF is nice though, and gives te picture some depth. (4) |

Take a Hikeby Pipe_DreamComment: Mostly nice lighting and a genuine group portrait. Composition of the group is apparently given some thought here, and surrounding elements are functional to the picture. Not a stunning or exciting picture, but a good group portrait (8) |

Why are friends so lame? :)by BlaineBuddyComment: All around the internet, you find webpages of teenage girls posing weird poses with funny faces, while photographing themselves with their camera-with-built-in-flash, causing blown highlights on the skins and harsh shadows. At least, yours is in focus and does not have a living room as a background. (3) |

Goofballs!by GThumbtackComment: technically more or less okay (bit dull colours), but funny faces in portraiture is a big nono for me. Background is distracting as well (4) |

"Street Girls"by RandomPlacesComment: Cool girls, cool setting. Quite some nasty details on the technical side though. The girls are not in focus, the sky is blown out as are parts of the wet street. The pose of the second girl on the left made me think she was a lilliputter at first. (4) |

Clubbers by MissAunicaComment: No, sorry. This is not a portrait, it is a snapshot. And not even a good one. Too many things happening in one picture, harsh lighting, silly acting people, unthoughtfull cut-off, not even an attempt at making a composition, not in focus, red eyes. (2) |

The Three Amigosby TacTZillaComment: Nice picture, but a bitt dull imo. You might consider experimenting a little with the camera angle. It would for instance be nicer to show where that ball is going. But then it wouldn't be a portrait, right? Which reveals that this is actually not a portrait, but an action shot. I also think the b/w conversion is a bit dull, it could have used more black. (5) |
