Glass and silverby willemComment: Very pretty set of goblets. The relfections are either too light to be impactful or too obvious that they are distracting. Try either using a non reflecting surface (if you want to remove them) or a stronger reflecting surface (if you want to emphasize them). |

Old Mason Jarsby mcraelComment: Aha! I finally find out what a mason jar is. Cool. I'm learning new things all the time with DPC.
I like the gritty dirty look of the jars and the empty space on the bottom left but would like to see a less cropped version. Good lighting.

Glasswareby TarbiniComment: I like the shape of the green vase. I'm not sure why you chose to set the vases on a reflective surface but then cut off the reflections. The image is a little too dark for my liking. Using a white background would have brought out the colours of the vases more. |

At Restby qm_kittenComment: [Comment only] Fantastic clarity in focus and colours here. Shallow DOF works well. My one suggestion is to compose the picture so that the subject is not right at the middle or recrop the final image. But I know that's not always so simple to do as it's not easy to get close enough to snap a well photographed image of a butterfly (or other small insect or bird) before it flutters (crawls or flies) away. |

Swan with Two Ducks at Sunsetby auroraComment: [Comment only] Very soothing, tranquil capture. Composition is excellent, though I might have extended the length a little bit more. I see the photo is at 630x480. I would have gone the full 640x480 without the use of a border or at least not one so heavy looking. The two ducks in the background add a nice second point of focus. |

Slumber Down Under...by andrewlrComment: [Comment only] Oh wow, the texture depicted in this photo makes it look so real. I feel as if I can reach into the image and stroke the soft cuddly looking koala. And gosh isn't it just so darn cute? |

Gooseling Runby littlepitelComment: [Comment only] Awww, so cute! Tugs at the heart strings. I would have cropped the bottom just under their feet and cropped off the top so that you can't see the other side of the body of water, turning the image into a panorama format. |

Micro Conflictby ndsComment: [Comment only] I've been staring at this picture for a few minutes and I can't quite figure out if the ants are carting away a piece of plant or if that's some kind of worm/grub. Maybe it's a grub. It doesn't look like any plant I can think. The shadows detract from the image but there's not much you could have done for that. Flash wouldn't work at such a close range. Maybe if you had a macro light... Great spur of the moment capture. |

calmsetby abbi2bComment: [Comment only] Oh boy, that date really ruins a promising picture. Disable that feature the next time you want to shoot to submit to DPC. Another thing to look out for would be making the horizon perfectly horizontal. Your exposure is good here, as are focus and composition. However, the bird is so small in the frame that this image really is more of a landscape than a fauna picture. |

Proud Mamaby cpanaiotiComment: [Comment only] Oh no, the picture is too small for viewers to adequately enjoy it's qualities. Such a shame. |
