the grad in the sky looks a bit artificial... I guess you were going for a moody look but really the lighting is too even in the rest of the photo. Maybe some sort of vignetting would be better, or selective burning?

first glance seems too abstract... takes long enough to realise what it is... then suddenly it makes sense :) Hope that train wasn't moving - could be a dangerous place to leave your camera!

hehe, I agree I should have had the whole thing in focus, I shot it at f/4 because of inadequate lighting (a rush job!) and I had someone holding the setup at the right angle, so I couldn't use a longer exposure... well it was just an idea done at the last minute. I actually did another shot with just the spiral (and probably some better focussing), but chose this one as I thought it was more fun!
