The 12:30 from Grosmontby SaraRComment: This was a real nice shot, the steam gave it a lot of energy and interest. I was one of your many 7s; congrats on the nice placement. |

The Old Ladyby SteveJComment: good crispness and detail, but for me the composition pushed it down, both because the swoop of the fender was lost and the square box in the foreground was cut in half. Gave you a 5 on the technicals (and I like the glare/reflections, think they added to the image). |

Holding It Togetherby karmatComment: I liked the technicals on this a lot, but ultimately gave you a 5 because there just wasn't enough interest in the subject to carry me higher. As a detail shot in a photo essay, it would have been perfect; as a stand alone it didn't grab me. |

Twoby MelethiaComment: I kept bumping this one up during the challenge (gave you a 7), and it continues to grow on me the more I look at it. That guy on the left makes the shot. Nice entry. |

a little erieby skewsmeComment: Nice shot, well composed for what it is, though a little cut off on the right side of the frame. I gave you a 6; was a little bit static for me, which is why it didn't make it into my 7+ range, though technically very well done. |

The Train Station...by NikonJebComment: Loved the lighting and sharpness, and the forms and for the most part the composition. Wished the P in ennsylvania wasn't cut off, and would have liked to have seen where those stairs led. Gave you a 6 |

Walschaerts Powerby PhotologistComment: Nice detail and B+W conversion, Les ... this was my favorite of the "wheel shots" in the challenge. Should have done much better than it did. |

Get off the tracks!by snafflesComment: Interesting. Thought this was an IR shot during the challenge. Nice reaction to tough shooting conditions to add some interest to a difficult shot. |

personal trainingby posthumousComment: very cool, great blur and sharpness, and a fun take on the challenge. Surprised this didn't score better. Wait a minute, then again I'm not. That's DPC for you. :-P |

Iron Horseby rodfulkComment: What a great old engine, and the color treatment worked well to hide the lights ... I kept looking and looking to see if I could find them and I couldn't! Great subject, though I think this would have worked a bit better if you would have either chosen to go in much closer to focus in on some of the detail and the shapes and forms of the engine rather than the whole thing, or stepped back a bit farther to show us the whole engine and some of its surroundings. |
