I gave you a 7 ... loved the set up and toning, figured you had either cloned out a step ladder or had the subject jump off a platform out of the frame. The inability to see his face or any expression that would have furthered the story you're telling here is what stopped it from going higher (along with the fact that there were a ton of great images in this challenge, and I always tend, subconciously at least, to grade on a curve).

Ridiculously low vote that highlights DPC's obsession with technical perfection at the expense of recognizing the type of image that can differentiate a photograph from other types of art. So much more unique and difficult then the typical picture we see around here. The recognition of this moment, and the ability and willingness to capture it, is light years ahead of the typical long-shutter-speed-tripod-in-the-surf type of image that scores well here.

looks like an ancient bristlecone. I think the horizon line running through the pine kills this. I would have liked to see you get even lower so the sky is more fully behind the tree. Lighting looks a little flat, or maybe you just took too much contrast out in post processing. B+W would have been a good choice here.

like the high key, but not the composition. I think a tighter crop to focus the eye on one of the side branches, perhaps the one hanging down in the middle, would have worked better.

not liking the downward angle of the shot or the lighting and shadows on the hand. The leaves in the background running through the hand hurt this as well. Comes off as a casual snapshot without much thought behind it.
