I like the edgy feel of this one. Processing makes light look harsh on this one, but that works with what you seem to be going for here. I also like the out of focus on the hind legs and the weird lines and patterns on the floor.

Great lighting and composition. Love the soft halo around the silos, and the detail you brought out on the silo walls. Your choice of frame works well here to enhance the image as well.

lol -- too funny. I like the soft focus on this one ... the gorilla blends into the background, and it almost looks like a painting. Quality is in the eye of the beholder. ;>P

This is my favorite of the first four you posted. Interesting composition and good choice for a duotone ... makes it look like something out of the Twilight Zone.

Interesting image here ... deep rich black tones, and nice detail bringing out the shadow of the umbrella on the floor.

Nice tonal range, makes the cactus pop but still shows the dramatic background sky. Well done.

I agree ... the one shoe looked sharp in the LCD and I immediately thought it would make a nice B+W, then saw it was softer when i got home and threw it up on the monitor. But I liked the diagonal lines and the wood grain, so decided to go with it anyway

Not sure what kind of dance it was. They were having an Old West days festival in Old Town this weekend, and this girl, accompanied by her sister and parents on fiddle and wind instruments, was doing some sort of Irish jig on the wooden sidewalk. We stopped to watch, I had my telephoto on snapping pics of my kid and her cousins, and the feet caught my eye so I made some quick snaps like this for the challenge.

Great expression, and nice soft lighting on the child's head. Works very well in B+W.

nice composition and tones. Looks a tad soft in the upper third ... maybe you were shooting at a 45 degree angle to the ground?
