The Turksby kiwinessComment: Really like this; excellent sense of dynamic and location. Title brings to mind a couple of well remembered books. |

A quiet read in the sunby bob_bobskiComment: The colour becomes such a strong element of a colour photograph that it doesn't help guide the eye to your subject. The over-exposure isn't helping - would love to see more texture in those hands. |

closing timeby SkipComment: i like the moment, the expression, the very strong sense of location and mood; seems a touch forced into the nearly square crop, perhaps. |

Candid Encounterby Dim7Comment: Definitely something of an achievement to get the shot at all, although it seems the focus is stronger on the foreground sticks than the bird's head; a classic case of having a very dificult photograph to get and hoping that people will not pay too much attention to the challenge details? |

Into The Fireby CamComment: Fun, but the composition and cropping doesn't feel thought through to me; if you're forced not to have their feet (and this is primarily about their clothes), then you might usefully have cropped closer all round, especially top of frame, at least to generate the feeling of real closeness - and you seem to have the detail here to allow that. They're nicely alien seeming though. |

Street Performer - tough man for a tough crowd.by NobodyComment: Excellent teeth; this is the kind of thing i think cries out for a B/W treatment - the background colours become less of an issue then, and the purer tonality works to emphasise the character in his face. And the face really is the point of this shot, no? |

At Your Feetby commendatoriComment: Good work; I would have been slightly disappointed with the background figures and clutter, would have liked more separation between this scene and those people; it becomes the more of a problem as I don't get a particular dynamic in the relation of the statue and the photographer, possibly because the 'extra' pair of boots seems to be his subject. |

Good day at the marketby olbolComment: This is fun - I wish there were however a stronger relation between her and the pig's head: this is impressionistic, but her smiling expression makes it clear she's interacting with someone out of frame, and thus has good reason to be ignoring that face sitting there - catching her less engaged would make that lack of attention to it more fascinating. That's what I'd think if it were my shot, at least. |

Reflecting Memoriesby petrikleynhansComment: I think you just needed to hold this for a split second longer before shooting - let that guy get out of the way behind her; also the leading line of the recession of trees has become weakly placed in frame - leading attention away from her and not toward anything useful. However, you've done well to get close, and her pose is an interesting moment. |
