Supportby anon-y-mouseComment: It bugs me that this isn't taken absolutely vertically - just really close to it. Really interesting shot, but something so form-al for me demands to be symmetrical. Lots of good things though: DOF, focus, light, exposure ... |

Stratosphere Tower Truck Lotby ISivicComment: Love the effect on the truck lot itself, but for me it's too far out of frame - the other lights being brighter, draw the eye more, and I don't see enough there to find a real subject. There's also another, blacker area at the bottom of frame, that looks like it could usefully have been cropped out. Good effort though. |

A bridge for the road to nowhereby e301Comment: Thanks for that comment, David. The darkness? Well, firstly it was a dark day, and secondly a near-nightmare to get the shot, especially with the lack of control settings on the 2800Z. I like the way the dark surroundings emphasise the patch of brightness on the horizon, the way the darkness conceals some of the messiness of the nearby buildings (mostly still under construction), and along with the reflections in the water serve to isolate the bridge: I could almost ahve titled the shot loneliness, but thought that it needed the help of a little information. I also hoped the highlights on the handrails of the bridge (had to sharpen to get them out that way) would give enough of a clue as to the subject - evidently not a successful strategy for most viewers.
Thanks to all who commented, and of course especially to the five of you responsible for those 10's!

Two Mile Creekby Crafty SueComment: I like this kind of photography enormously - but I don't think this is so successful: not sure why (it's only my impression), but perhaps there's too much distraction here - the 'plants', the snow, the bits of rubbish. Without that it would approach a sort of abstract quality, rather than being just a pile of rubble. Cool pile of rubble, though. |

UNWANTED GIFT FROM ABOVEby louie cComment: LOL. Good job the hat was on, I guess. Soory about the photo though - got to mark it down on focus, lighting, composition, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on at all. |

Raining Dandelionby IsaacComment: Interesting - though I actively dislike the pink border, which is like having an element of the shot forced on you. as a texture, or a background, it would be wonderful - though the complete lack of any focus is a bad point for me. Nice patterns. |

bertula verucozzaby ivanaComment: if you re-read the challenge, you'll see there's a specific requirement to have shot a subject 'from above it'. |

Touch The Skyby bobgaitherComment: Lovely shot, genuinely interesting and a great spot - a great pity it's taken from below. |

Pinkby briphotoComment: Wonderful shot, just lacking (for me) a suggestion that it's taken downwards. Whilst I'm sure it is, there's nothing to say it isn't. Not a specific requirement, I know, but for me an implicit requirement. |
