Key Lime (No cats or Rain-X)by DyslexicComment: Different composition at least. Makes the pulp of the fruit look kind of plastic - that's down to quite a lot of direct ferlection, I would guess. I think lighting from a shallower angle would help add some definition - this seems quite flat to me. |

Grizzledby casualguyComment: doesn't do a lot for me - though I couldn't really criticise anything. I'd perhaps want one or two things different, but then it wouldn't be your photograph, would it? |

Awww NUTS!by slgardnerComment: Lacking the clarity of detail that would make this a great shot. As rhythmic compositions go, not a bad attempt. It is, at least properly lit, which alone would put you ahead of the pack |

Striving for the Sunby jrs915Comment: Almost Brass quality to that bud. DOF might be too extreme for most, but a competent shot. Doesn't have a texture that grabs at the eye, but better than many. |

texture for everby roozbehComment: Nice abstract - quite like the near-negative feel from underneath the mat. Doesn't hold my eye that long though. |

Wornby InnaNComment: I recall the thumbnail - thought it was skin (well, I suppose it is, but...) Captures the texture well, though I'm not convinced about the interest of the image as a whole. |

Expensive Garbage?by valdiornComment: I think this is pattern rather than texture - don;t get mucvh sense of smoothness or of the regularity of the interruptions of it from those paths. Kind of interesting image, though the extreme shallow dof perhaps just serves to preclude some interest. |

In the Suavety of a Waveby zeuszenComment: Managed to capture a sense of solidity in this water - like a carving, rather than like ice (if it is ice, then you've fooled me). I find the white/grey-point trying visually - it seems to have put a lot of the detail into a small area of brightness, and asks too much of the eye for me, especially in a complex and imprssionistic composition like this. Also can't escape the impression of a face in the background, accidentally or otherwise. And the title ... |

Cone and Shadowby FSCNitroComment: Very small image, and lacking fine detail. The grand texture, if you understand me, is well shown. Doesn't hold a lot of interest for me though, I fear. |

Rough Around the Edgesby deafwolfComment: Sky, edges of the roofing-metal seem over-exposed, just to get some detail in the facing end of the barn? The patterning of the corrugations on the roof have suffered for that, and that is where the real detail of texture should be, I think. For this challenge, the end of the barn holds little interest, and it's a shame to have sacrificed the detail in the sky and the edges of the roof for that. |
