Framing is a little weak for me - I'm not convinced about where you've decided to cut off the plug. The spark itself is of course indistinct, too, and has little impact really - one of those things that just doesn't look as good as perhaps you thought it might.

Now this is good work indeed - and I'm pretty certain will be going straight into my faves after the challenge. Huge and immediate impact. Fabulous detailing, light, contrast (both technically and of tone), blance of composition, and that edge of fascination about whatever the hell is in the background. edgy stuff, and perfectly mundane - exactly what the challenge was after. if there were justice, this will win (and I haven't even seen all the shots yet) ... but I wonder if the masses will find your colouration a touch too odd?

Seems odd at best to show this in a landscape orientation - of what use is all that dead space? Added to which, the positioning of this design in frame is pretty weak - dead centre is always tricky. Beyond that, this is really a very flat photo - more about the design than the photography - a record, rather than a creative endeavour, if you see what I mean.

I think you've gone a bit too far with sheer numbers here - especially in a very busy composition - a pile of forks, rather than an organisation of them. Technically well done, obviously, but I think you've also taken the contrast a bit too far to give a really extraordinary effect.

Does it matter that I can't work out what this is? I think, given the challenge, that it does, a bit. It's a pleasant shot though, great tonally, and nicely composed. I like the light in this very much. I'd guess it's a frozen flower melting, but...

Good stuff - tone, colour, detail. Not wholly convinced it really holds a great amount of interst for me - perhaps just lacking an edge of subtlety somewhere. But it's very strong work, nevertheless.
