Frenchman's Bay Recursionby NeilComment: I love both of these shots, Neil! This one really packs a whollup, though. What a great S curve there in he middle, and a super choice to oversharpen the various levels just enough to add some light there. Really lovely. |

Connecticut River Sunrise - Haddam Neck CTby soupComment: That's pretty, Tim! It's kind of nice that this image might perhaps match the feeling you desire--peace, comfort, beauty--when your actual feelings may be much different. In this case, I can't imagine feeling this way if my dad were getting major surgery, but I would certainly want to feel this way.
Anyway, lovely work! |

Back to School!by peterishComment: Clear, interesting portrait. He looks quite posed, and I wonder why he's looking up. Color balance seems okay on the man, but the background looks yellow. It may be your monitor. I entered a challenge a while ago and the monitor I was working on showed white, but it was really yellow, just like this. Nice position of the student in the frame. Overall, a nice shot hinting at an interesting destination. |

The Other Sideby GeneralEComment: From the title, I suspect that this spider's destination was "the other side." It may seem a petty thing, but it looks like the spider is walking down the road instead of across it. The only hint you've included is the line marker in the middle, and the spider is walking parallel to it. I like the position of the spider in the frame. Tones seem just a tad light and not very deep, so playing with contrast might be worthwhile. If your macro works, it might be fun to get as close as possible to the spider for some alternative choices. Overall, an interesting, engaging image! |

An Island Of My Ownby GolferDDSComment: Very nice composition. Subjects are very well placed in the frame. I like the glow of the trees, too. the colors seem quite unnatural, and so bothers me a bit, just because I can't help but think this would be nice without any color weirdness. Clear image and lovely tones. |

A Time And A Place To Reflectby PoobaComment: The rope is in a good position in the frame. I also like the angles of the lines. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at, though: a ship? a bus? a building? Nice clarity and tones. Good luck! |
