new invention?by shutterflyComment: CRITIQUE CLUB
Challenge: Met the challenge perfectly, yet is still very creative. The title is very cute too.
Technique: The lighting is very intriguing, but some focus needed to be on the "plug" as alot of people didn't know what this was. I also think it would have looked great flipped upside down! I really like the matching border, and the lighting is good, though a little dark.
Overall: A great photo, but it did have a little confusion with the lighting - again, simply by lighting the plug, I think you would have had better results. VERY clever! I know I wouldn't have come up with something that cute! |

Did I Really Do That???by RaindropComment: CRITIQUE CLUB
Challenge: Met the challenge perfectly, while still being very creative and clever.
Technique: The only thing I would suggest here is to not use the on-camera flash. It adds alot of "wash" to the image and causes a large shadow behind the bird. Simply by using high power lights, or even natural outdoor lighting (through a window), this image would have had much more depth and clarity.
Overall: A great idea that just needed some technical cleaning. |

E is for...by GrenComment: CRITIQUE CLUB
Challenge: You met the challenge perfectly while still being very creative.
Technique: Trying something new is always fun, and I'm glad you went out and tried this! The yolk is very dark - in the future, simply put a "spotlight" on the yolk, or even a bright yellow circular piece of paper underneith it to make it show up better. Really, that's the only critisism you received here, but it's an easy fix.
Overall: Very clever and fun to look at. I really like your approach, and I'm sorry you didn't score a bit higher. Keep trying! You are doing great and your creativity is really showing! |

Challenge: It meets the challenge with the lines, but the flower seems to "stop" the lines in the center. By placing it in the upper right hand corner, the effect would have looked amazing.
Technique: I love your angle on this shot, and I love the colors you used. Your settings look great, and using the morning light added a "dreamy" effect to the image while still keeping it sharp. Towards the end of the lines, there is a little "bump" that's a distraction - it could have simply been covered up with the flower.
Overall: A great shot that would have done much better simply by changing the focal point. I have to admit that I love your eye for this and the angle is perfect. |
