Ummm...Your tag is expired.... by DamonComment: Originally posted by flaherma: My dad used to keep his old plates hanging on the wall in the garage. When I saw this image during voting, it made me think about him & his plates, a good, nostalgic feeling. Congratulations on the ribbon! |
Im glad my picture was able to bring back some good memories, thats a big part of what photography is about. |

BarnTag-7by DamonComment: Originally posted by Denielle: I think I would have scored this image higher... simply because of the perspective. The angle it's shot at gives the barn a more 3D look. Also, I love the hanging license plate about to fall off on the upper right of the shot.
I gave your entry a 6. I think I would have given this one (with the right processing) an 8 or higher. |
This was going to be my entry shot but the colors didnt pop as well as the one I entered, as since we werent able to PP i went with it. Didnt much matter though there wasnt any way I was going to be able to compete with gyabanentry :) Message edited by author 2012-12-07 10:02:04. |

Ummm...Your tag is expired.... by DamonComment: Originally posted by The_Tourist: I think the subject (wall of a barn?) has potential for this challenge. However, I think you tried to include too much where the numbers get lost. I think a tight composition (perhaps three plates high) would have greater impact. |
I did have a shot as you suggested but I felt showing that these tags were part of a building rather than just an array would have proven better. But I will post the cropped shot later if you are interested in comparing the two. Thanks again for the comments. |

Ummm...Your tag is expired.... by DamonComment: Originally posted by gyaban: What a unique sight! Congrats on your ribbon. I really wonder what that person had in mind when aligning all these plates. Any clue? |
Im really not sure what his intentions were besides a small passion for expired tags. Most of the dates seem to be from the 70's and 80's but I found some on the back that were from the 50's. This building is located on an old abandon farm and happened to find it a year ago on a location scouting trip. It was the first place that popped into my mind when this challenge came about. |
