Close of Dayby sibelingComment: Very nice image that uses shadows well to convey the end of the day. It feels like it wants to be a great picture (possibly a ribbon winner) but that somehow something doesnt quite work. Having thought about this I just wonder whether the chair makes the frame slightly cluttered and whether it would have been better without it.
Still a great shot |

The End of a Dayby sherpetComment: Very nice end of the day shot, the reflected sun really adds to this picture and the diagonal leading line of the wave is great |

Evening Closing Inby posthumousComment: One of a number of good end of day pictures. For me (and I appreciate this may sound a bit stupid given the topic) it is almost a little too dark and maybe it would have been better cropped slightly more from the bottom |

Closing Inby colorcarnivalComment: A real grow on you photo, the way you have got both the flower and the bee infocus is excellent and there is a very real sense of the bee closing in on the pollen...Bumped to 7 |

A Bushel of Jelly Beansby bassboneComment: Peter
Many congratulations on both a great finish and more importantly a fantastic image
I have to say this worked on so many levels for me, concept, delivey and technicals
To me it is amazing how your photography seems to have recently taken that next big step forward and I admit that you now leave me trailing in your wake (I think that first ribbon is just around the corner)
Super shot from one of life's good guys |

Life Savors the Beachby colorcarnivalComment: Ha, I knew that you were going to pip me at the post in this challenge and I have to say, deservedly so for such a unique take on the task in hand
Great concept and I love the blurring, The azure blue background is fantastic and I like the image of what I imagine to be a crab (but probably isnt) scuttling along as well
I'll be honest and say I dont know whether (for me) the lighter blue in the immediate foreground really adds that much (though having said that I do like the fact that we get to see the lifesaver reflected) and I might have just prefered it with an expanse of sand at the front
Having said that I scored it higher than it finished (which I think is always a good thing)
Great job |

Closing Timeby dannyleeComment: There is something distinctly uneasy about this image (other than the fact that someone is being squashed in a piece of gym equipment). The subjects expression is almost bordering on the grotesque and perhaps it is this blend of humour and genuine horror which make me both like this shot and recoil from it at the same time. Uneasily bumping it to 7 |
