I'm in Italy, don't disturb, please!by Rino63Comment: Well done on both meeting the challenge perfectly (the hooded figure is a great touch) and also producing such a beautiful image. Love the composition and colours and the skyline almost looks like an erupting volcano

b&w raindrops.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: Very nice capture and use of dof, great sharpness on 'key' raindrops.
Sour - The border seems to be uneven/slightly skew whiff, especially left to right. This may be because it is a translucent one and the colours beneath it vary thus creating an optical illusion, but it is quite distracting |

razor wire.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: I guess the skill of a great photographer is the ability to see beauty in ugly things. How anyone can turn razor wire into something reminiscent of wheat gently blowing on a summers breeze is beyond me
Fantastic lines, great sharpness and I love the way the razor wire goes from black to silver on each loop. The blue translucent frame works well.
Sour..none really...maybe play with the blue and cyan hues and sat to darken the sky slightly |

bee 2.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: Superb macro, great capture of the bee and the positioning on the flower is wonderful. Love the gentle bokeh and the fact that there are no other plants that break up the continuity of the background green
Perhaps a fraction more contrast as has already been suggested but as with others of your shots I feel that this would be the merest tweak on what is already a phenomenal picture |

cargo ship.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: A stunning silhouette and the dusk sky is captured percetly.
Struggling on a sour, perhaps the orange inner border could be lost
A wonderful shot that I could imagine gracing the pages of a travel or holiday brochure
Simple yet very very effective |

double rainbow.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: Wonderful composition and image. The lighing is exquisite (especially on the second outcrop of rocks)
For my tastes it feels like it could have done with a fraction more sharpening on the front rocks and I think that with this it would have been a genuine ribbon contender in a challenge.
Still would have scored a 7 or 8 from me
as is

twilight pelican.jpgby saltwatershotsComment: Ha! Well just to show the difficulty in accomodating everyone's taste in submitting to challenges, I have to say that I love the range of softer blue colouring and the frame works very well for my taste.
Sour, well I dont know why but the blur doesnt work as well as it might. I almost feel that it should either be slightly more blurred or less so.
Lovely image |

Catch!by WalesPComment: Not just a catch....A GREAT catch.
Fantastic stop motion, a picture that is alive with vibrancy. Stunned at the fact that so much of the frame is in sharp focus (especially at f5.0!)
Love the way that the dog has reacted to the ball going past him and following the line of vision takes you to the ball itself.
For me the fact that the ball is on the dge of the shot (pretty much on a rule of third point) actually adds to the image rather than takes from it)
Great image |

Kickin' It Old Styleby CharleneComment: Yaaaay!!!! Congratulations on your second 6+ score!!!
I love this photo, especially the way you have captured the leaves in perfect stop motion and that they are curving back on themselves like a wave breaking on the shoreline. Beautiful rich autumnal colours as well
Just lovely |

Almost Had Itby colorcarnivalComment: I really like sports shots and this is a good one as it really catches a slice of the action.
I like the way that you have made the colours so deep and vibrant (especially given that this looks like a night time game played under lights). Nice composition as well
I guess where this may have suffered is the fact that the red players (especially the one catching the ball) appear to have a bit of motion blur which people may have marked down (despite the fact that yellow top is captured sans blur)
Definitely not a sub 5 shot! |
