Placidityby ryandComment: Well done - these are fun to do & work with later in post. I particularly like this one, the balance of exposure is really spot on - I don't think people recognize how difficult it can be sometimes to get shots like this right, it should've placed much higher, IMO :~) |

Elemental Roadby APComment: Adam - yeah, I have to agree with Jeff on this one. So much so that I didn't even recognize the portfolio version when browsing through your stuff last week. I did give this one a 6, but my vote was down mostly because of the extreme obviousness of the valley dodging at first glance. The more you look at the piece, the less it seems like it was edited & more natural the light along the river appears - that may have been where you got into trouble with voters like me. That first impression can do you in sometimes! The other part I may have subtracted for was the blooming highlights on the foreground branch.
Sometimes, after I'm done editing a composition, I'll bring back the original shot to see if mixing it in will reveal some areas where I went too far. I think this is a good example where you may have found that technique useful as well!

One Last Taskby pepitoidComment: Andrei, great show! This was fantastically evocative & I was really compelled to study it when I first came across in my voting.
Should have placed higher! Should have placed higher! Should have placed higher! |

Boo!by smykComment: Don't ask me how I got here 9 months later, but I'm stunned this didn't do better. |

Glancing out to Seaby jblaylockraynerComment: Awesome shot - this image stuck with me as I was doing seascapes (well, on the great lakes anyway) this morning. It really is a brilliant moment, congrats on a great placement! |

Framedby surfinbirdComment: Awesome work Michael!!! FYI, this was my only '10' & obviously my favorite image from the challenge. Her pose is brilliant & your pp was as well :) I was wondering when I'd see another entry from you - are you gearing up for another season of DPL? Keep this up & you'll end in Division A, friend... |

The Alpine Routeby APComment: Oh man, you were blessed with some great atmosphere on this trip. The dark theme you have going with these images is appealing, but perhaps the haze is forcing your hand in that regard... Regardless, it is a neat series and GNP has definitely moved its way up on my list! |
