Good thing the water's warmer than the air

The shot is maybe a bit too busy for 640x, although printed bigger, I think it would be really cool. Other than the title, though, I'm not sure it has much to do with the challenge topic.

Not a bad car ad. My eye keeps getting drawn away from the car to the blown out patch of snow behind it, though. And it looks like you might have pushed the saturation a litle too far. The brown trees in the background have a lot of red noise in them.

This is beautiful. I'm surprised it didn't score better.

I read your post in the forums. I think this is a nice photo that is a good example of shallow DOF. I think a lot of shots in this challenge that actually had shallow but not razor thin DOF got beat up by the voters. So don't worry about it, you did a good job here.

Good fishing day

Comment:
Nice composition, I like how the fishing poles (I assume that's what they are, since I'm from Southern California) lead to the people and truck. I think the image could be improved with softer, less contrasty lighting (early morning, maybe), and by making the whole thing a bit brighter. The snow is kind of a grey color, instead of white, and the truck, person, and dog are too dark to see much detail.

The picture's pretty good, but I had to Google "Murano glass" to figure out what this was. I guess I'm still not sure what this has to do with the "Good" theme.

I really like the lighting, kinda Jill Greenbergish. Too bad it's basic editing, and you can't do the Jill Greenberg processing. The image works well with the challenge topic, too. The only real problem I have is the overall softness. Since she's young and presumably still has perfect skin, I think it would be more effective if she were a touch sharper. But that's just one opinion. It's still a strong shot, regardless.

Totally cool. Most people just took a shot of something and gave it a "good" title. You actually came up with a concept. Extra points for that. The lighting may be a little flat. Both kids, especially the boy, could use some backlighting to separate them from the background, but it's still cool.

I really like this image, and the feeling it evokes. I'm not sure if a (little) tighter crop would work better or not. I'm sure you tried it, so I'll try not to second guess, but for 640x, I might like to see more bird detail.
