Nice capture of a hawk, waiting and watching. The biggest difficulty is that the shot has a lot of contrast. The shadows are hard and dark, and the feathers on the hawk's chest are so bright they've lost detail. It looks like the capture was from the middle of the day, which is a hard time to shoot in the sun, because of exactly this problem. Maybe earlier or later, or wait for a cloudy day?

I like the bright colors and simple composition. But the flower is so bright that the yellow is blown out in places, which makes it hard to see the detail on the flower.

You've captured the peacefulness of the place very well. Taking pictures basically into the sun like this is hard, because the sky gets totally blown out, while the stuff on the ground is still too dark.

The b&w conversion is nice. I really like the silhouette of the trees on the right. I think the focus of the picture is supposed to be the open space in the middle, but it doesn't really work, because my eye keeps getting drawn to the edges of the picture, where there is more contrast.

The red color is lovely, the ring in the middle of the flower is different than the other red roses, and the image definitely meets the challenge well. The biggest problem with the image is the lack of contrast. The shadows need to be darker, and the shiny parts of the ring could be brighter.

Finally, something a bit different from the hearts, flowers, and kissing couples. I like it. The only small quibble would be that I'd like the whites to be a bit brighter. The paper, in particular, looks a tiny bit grey.

Nice idea, definitely meets the challenge well. But the lighting is really flat and featureless. It would work better if you could get the light off the camera, to one side or the other, and soften it somehow. That would give more softness and shape to the scene.
