Well, this has certainly stood out with my voting so far. I think macro actions shots will do well, so good luck.

Interesting shot. I think I'd have increased the contrast a little. Good composition and DOF. There's a slight blue halo on the very edge of the head on the RHS. You could try to get rid of this using Hue/Saturation in your editor.

You had a good opportunity with lighting, but it's slightly lacking I think. I like the blow-out on the LHS, but the shot is too dark on the RHS. DOF is a nightmare of course, but I'd like more of the lens and dials in focus. Maybe it would be worth taking the shot more face-on, if you could avoid a reflection..

Pretty crispy image, although slightly faded. I'd have tried to increase the contrast a little to make the red of the flag stick out more. Good lighting and replication of the foreground as the background. Shot could do with being a little bigger if possible.

Took me a sec there to figure out what it was, which I think may hurt you with speed voters. I see your idea but not keen on the shallow DOF and browny background.

Not keen on such a shallow DOF, although otherwise nicely done. Think I'd have tried a thin black border to 'hold' in the shot.

Hehe, you can't beat oversharpening. :-D Good composition and nice choice of B&W. Slightly more interesting than other eye shots I've seen so far, well done.

Very interesting composition. Slightly noisy and speckly, but I don't think this detracts from the shot. Excellent capture of the moment.

Fantastic tones, although focus is slightly off. Nevertheless, very good effort. Think you may get marked down for not being macro-y enough.

Wow, now that's some bottleneck!

Doesn't give a very good impression of how big/small this is. Nice colours although slightly glarey lighting. Good effort.
