Cow Riverby KaveyComment: Very nice composition. Good job getting the horizon straight whilst focusing on the foreground. There's a nice gradient of colour from bottom to top, which helps draw the eye. I think the main issue is the reeds in the foreground are somewhat unexciting. That said, the shot has a nice depth to it, which helps a lot. I think you produced the best shot you could of the subject, but I think maybe it wasn't the best subjec to choose.
EDIT: At the time I gave this shot a 6. Message edited by author 2004-03-07 11:30:57. |

Hand on my heartby KaveyComment: Interesting use of grain.. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but it definitely adds something to the shot, particularly with the choice of sepia. I like the soft focus, it suits the shot well. Like some of your other shots there's good contrast and brightness. I'm not sure about the composition. I think a longer necklace may have added interest. All in all, good shot, and extra kudos for bravery! |

Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Blue Shadowby KaveyComment: Interesting idea, and well executed.. Thnk I might have tried the whole bottle in shot, possible landscape? Seems to have been a bit oversharpened? (Halo on cork and down LHS of bottle?) |

Past, Present & Future.by KaveyComment: Definitely one of my favourite shots of yours, and one I remember from looking at your husband's entry. Has a certain 'sheen' of quality. I think maybe a little lack of crispness may have cost you a higher score. |

Need a hand?by KaveyComment: Framing/composition are nicely done. I like the range of shades, although the harsh conditions seem to have led to overexposure. Depending on the editing applied it pay have been worth playing with contrast/brightness to reduce blown out areas. |
