Crunch...by stuarteComment: Lovely shot - very apt title too. Pic is full of movement - extremely effective. |

see my micro-organismsby CompaqComment: Looks extremely grainy - was this shot compressed a lot? Also I'm not keen on the white section at the left - I guess that was an accident. Some nice greens but the pic gets very pixellated towards the back. |

Scary Monster (not really)by brentg3Comment: Eurgh. I've never seen one of these before and i hope this is the closest I ever have to come to one. Gruesome.
Great focus though; the shell has a real texture to it that I like. |

The fly which couldn't fly...by auiComment: Wonderful focus at this range. You didn't have to pull a wing off the little fella to get him to hold still, did you? :)
It cuts a very forlorn figure; nice picture. |

not fade awayby akebonoComment: He's looking right at me with that beady little eye...there aren't many pics which, when I first see them, i say 'Wow'. This was one. Excellent focus at close range, wonderful colours. 8 |

Emperor Scorpionby inspzilComment: I have a few criticisms of this pic:
1. It might have been nicer to get a shot of the animal in an environment at least similar to its natural habitat - this seems to be a table or floor.
2. The lighting is very harsh - clearly a lam,p held quite close to the subject.
3. I'm not keen on the thick border (this is more of a personal thing than a photography critique).
Having said that you've brought out the texture on the shell very well indeed. |

calmsetby abbi2bComment: You'll probably hear this a lot but please turn off the datestamp! It really drags the eye away from the subject of the pic!
It's a nice shot but perhaps you could have got closer in - it would be hard to pin this down to a theme of 'fauna' if I didn't already know what the challenge was. |

Spotby PedroComment: Perhaps sepia wasn't the best choice here - the top end of the photo feels too 'whited-out' to me. Nice choice to shoot over the wire though, the fence adds a nice line to the shot. |
