Intricacyby sekarmalathyComment: an unusual angle however it feels like things are cut off that need to be either completely out of the scene or completely in. (e.g. the statue) |

Circle of Lifeby jjatoa61Comment: Interesting idea but the selective desaturation needs to be cleaner. (I am guessing that this was edited in Picasa which is really hard to control that sort of thing though). |

head and heartby posthumousComment: aaah...there is. I've looked at this image 4 or 5 times because I knew there was something I should be seeing. I've never tried a shot like this but the general rule of thumb is to have the person in front of the camera for half the exposure. (i.e if its a 4 second exposure the person needs to be in the scene for 2 seconds). tough to manage on a self-portrait but I think you weren't in the scene long enough and as such the image of you in the scene is very faint. |

If I Were Still Lorenaby Luci11eComment: Self portraits are always tough especially for things like focus. If your focus had been on your eyes this image would be great. It almost looks like the focus is actually behind you.
The background is also quite busy and really draws attention away from your face.
The pose itself works well and the composition is solid. The shirt you chose is quite complimentary and while quite brightly colored actually helps bring attention to your face. |

Self Imaginingby LindaLeeComment: Not a fan of the selective desaturation. For it to be effective the area you leave in color needs to be fairly significant. In this case, the effective is unsettling rather than appealing I am afraid.
I'm also not sure what you did for processing on your face but there is no shadows at all and it makes your face look quite flat and two dimensional. |

Thomas and Iby mitalapoComment: strange but quite interesting too. I mean technically there's problems but I think they actually add to the impact of this image. |
