I said weed but I really have no idea what it is. It could be some flower that lost all its petals.... ??? |

It was actually the Rose Festival Parade in Portland. People had spots taped off for weeks before and some people even camped out overnight to make sure they had a good spot. The people in this shot brought living room furniture. I didn't like how busy the shot was behind them so I processed it so that the bg was lightened and hazy. |

Shining amongst the Shadesby shalrathComment: I don't think the center composition works as well for this shot as a thirds composition would have. Not that every shot needs use the thirds rule just that this particular one would have worked better with it imo. Though it isn't what your title leads me to believe, I'm going to consider the dichotomy as color / black and white because I think that's a stronger theme in this. |

Dichotomy of Levitation Mysterious Quality or Power.by BrianRComment: Really not fond of the processing on this and I'm sure you're already taking a beating so that's all I'll say on that. As far as the challenge I think you've met it but I wouldn't have gotten that without the title so I think your title was a great choice. |

Destiny (One person - two different lives)by birkinComment: If you created and placed those signs then I think I would have made the "somewhere" sign say "skidrow" but hey that's just me. I think you've done a great job with the challenge. I like the balance in color. With all the color on the guy headed to somewhere the lack of color on the guy headed to wallstreet is balanced out by the spot of color in the field on the right. The composition is done well here also. My only real nitpick is that it apears to be just a bit oversharpened in the path and the grass. |

Dawn Breaks O'er Earth and Skyby levyj413Comment: I don't think your title is helping you here. I love the way you've captured the stormy dark clouds on the left with the bright chearful fluffy clouds on the right. Maybe a title that played on that would help viewers see that dichotomy a little better. Maybe "from stormy night to sunny day"? Or something else close to that. GREAT capture by the way. With no title at all I can see dichotomy in this shot. I can't say that for a many entries in this. 9 |

The Suicide Gameby graphicfunkComment: That's actually a very scary shot these days. I really like the shot but I'm not sure I get how it fits the challenge so comment only - no vote. |
