Well post challenge seeing your out-takes I agree about the comments on the brightness/contrast and really think that green cactus would have scored better than this one did. I was one of your many 5's. It was a good entry though.

Wow I really thought this would be at a minimum in the third position. At least it's still on the front page. I see a few comments about not having the guy in the shot but that was exactly what made it a top pick for me. Even after going through and making comments on all the shots in the challenge this one stayed the one on top. In my book none other came close. Well done!!

Although it is textures I don't feel like that is the subject. Not dnmc and not a bad shot but there are so many in the challenge that scream texture as the subject of the shot.

Just a little added exposure would help this out as well as some increased contrast. I like the repeating pattern and the composition. Well done.

Cute little guy isn't he. Great colors and dof. Love the point of focus too. He has some interesting textures going on for sure and the composition keeps me within the photo and not wandering around a sea of texture with nowhere to rest. Nice job.

Try bringing the color temp toward the cool side just a tiny bit. Overall this is good I think. Maybe a move to the left a little bit would help too and get rid of that whole in the corner too.
