Color, clarity, content, and comp all work to make this a great shot. Neg space gives the title meaning (or vice versa). It works very well for the challenge imo.

And a nice long shadow. This is a great example of neg space imo. The size difference is what makes this shot work so well.

That's a different take on the neg space. Gives it more interest. The only thing I can think of that might improve it for me is if instead of making it b/w, you desated everything except green (unless the bg had green in it).
