No focal point in your picture and the shadows cast all over the image are rather disturbing. I think that if you could isolate the plant on the rock with an upside-down shot those likens surounding the plant could help the picture.

There is no clear focal point where to lay the eyes in your picture and i think this will hurt your score. Also there isn't different focal planes (foreground/middleground/background) that give deep of field to your picture that seem plain to the viewer.

Try to offcenter the main subject and also try to avoid to locate the horizon line in the middle of the frame, i thing this could improve your picture.

Just some comments on your picture that could help to score higher next time:

1-Be carefull with the deep of field. Do a google search about "hyperfocal distance" to maximize your dof and avoid those foregrounds out of focus.
2-Chromatic aberrations are quite noticeable in the horizon line, but this is easily fixable in postprocesing.
3-It seems oversharpened to me, maybe a more subtle USM will help.
