This is a very powerful photo which is very thought provoking. I commend you for attempting such a BIG task, not only in the execution of the shot, but for sharing in your understanding of what is going on beneath the surface of the shot. To me, this goes beyond what we generally classify as 'photography and interpretation' and enters into a realm of discernment and genuine insight, which few care to venture.

I really like the composition and colours within this photo. It is so interesting and really different from the average bird photo, but I agree with the comments about the horizon. I also don't think that the frame does it justice. Perhaps a plain black frame would have been better.
