Nice portrait! I like her tender eyes, and the dog really seems to feel her love...
I would position them to avoid the blown up (top left). Now, for my personal taste, boost the color saturation a bit as well as the USM (to give a crispier touch).

Great angle and composition. My 2 suggestions are: getr the man on focus with deeper DOF, and try to diminish the floor blown up.

That's an awkard top-bottom angle, but I don't see much of diagonal here.
She's got nice eyes and hair though.

Definitely meets the challenge, It is a tiring/boring to look at it. I would be interesting to know what is subject matter of this abstract - maybe that would help to appreciate more your work.
