Monarch 3 CR SA RS LU.jpgby ephlnComment: Wow, the colours and patterns look totally out of this world. Gorgeous shot.
However, being a soft light layer addict, I'd say you could probably improve it if you shift the light slightly. The tutorial is here. |

Butterfly 6 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: Oh, that's such a lovely shot! However, you could really make the butterfly pop by using the white brush in a low opacity soft light layer to make it stand out from the background. Also, maybe some noise reduction? |

Butterfly 11 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: The butterfy is pretty, but the glare from the leaves is quite distracting. The shot has potential, but I think editing it further and sharpening it a bit more could enhance it a lot. |

Butterfly 2 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: The butterfly is interesting and the composition is good. Unfortunately, the background is really quite distracting rather than complementary. |

Butterfly 5 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: Wow, you've got quite a collection :)
He really seems to be in his natural environment around those colours. Very interesting patterns.

Butterfly 13 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: Eek, strange hairy thing! Do butterflies really look like that? Very good unusual shot, I love that you can see the shadow of the wing on the left. Again, I'd consider doing some noise reduction. |

Butterfly 21 RS.jpgby ephlnComment: Great shot :) The composition is spot on (the wings form such a lovely diagonal), and there's something very cool about crazy monochrome-patterned wings in the middle of a coloured background.
I'd be tempted to dodge and burn the wings at a low opacity to make them look more dramatic. |

Butterfly 19 CR RS.jpgby ephlnComment: Gorgeous shot. However, the first thing a viewer sees is that blue/white blob of light above the butterfly's head. Maybe darkening it with a soft light layer would shift the focus of the picture to where you want it.
There's a lot of noise in the background, but I'd say in this case the noise actually looks quite nice. |
