When I saw this photo during voting I commented about the softness of the focus, and I would again say that the focus is an issue. The baby is right in the center of the photo and it would create a much nicer effect to have the baby off slightly to one side or the other and again try and work eye level with the child and not shooting down.

There is a harshness on the righthand side at the bottom which is definately a lighting issue that can most often be corrected only by the time of day when shooting outside.

My one suggestion that is very easily fixed is for you to try to submit larger photos, even if you have cropped them down enlarge them to closer to the 640 deminision, it does help.

As for meeting the challenge yes it does this little boy is so cute and the colors are so well coordinated with the yellow slide and the yellow within his shortalls. He definately is a cutie. Welcome to DPChallenge and if you need any help just ask, and don't be afraid of the forum, a lot of questions get answered there.

Best of Luck in future challenges and so you know you scored very well for your first challenge.

The greens really stand out in this photo but sadly to say the rest of the photo just isn't there. Luckily for you the greens are your main focal point but the greens are so bright that it makes you wonder why the haze over the background. I can't help but wonder if it is a humid haze or a fog coming off the water. Possibly photographing this at a different time of day or an overcast day may have given you a different outcome.

In all this is a very pleasing image and it does meet the challenge. Nicely done.

Very nice image, has a wonderful effect overall. The one thing that might improve on this image is if it were a little brighter and lighter. The silhouetted shoreline just needs some break noticable between it and the actually reflection.

It does fit the magazine challenge well. Keep up the good work.

Very pretty image. The framing with the use of the trees is very nicely done, however since the church is your main focal point there was one very distracting factor, the tree to the left side appears to be catch your attention as you look at it it appears to have a smiley face within it, that makes you keep looking at the tree instead of the church.

It does however meet the challenge and the title seems to fit very well. Nice attempt, just watch out for the smiling trees they can be very distracting.

Over all it has a nice appeal to it. However it does have a few small flaws, first of all is the left bottom corner, not sure if that is another structure or what it is but moving slightly to the right may have gotten rid of it or moving slightly may have gotten ride of it.

Someone mentioned that the tower appears skrewed, it really isn't that it's the angle in which you took the photo it creates a falling tower look, sometimes that can be corrected by stepping further back or taking the photo from another structure which would put you up to a higher height before taking it.

Overall it does meet the challenge and only has a few minor flaws to it, best wishes in the next challenge

Beautiful sky and mountains in the background. The blues and whites stand out nicely. As someone mentioned the concrete wall or walkway along the bottome edge of the photo would serve a better purpose were it cropped out or had you moved enough to avoid it all together.

The other thing that really hurts this photo is the strong shadow of the building in the foreground. It is overpowering and lets you wondering just what the building looks like, shooting at a different time of day will easily correct this.

I believe this would make a very interesting magazine cover and therefore would definately meet the challenge. You have lots of room at the top for a title and the lefthandside along with the bottom would allow for print. Again that is a beautiful background.

I really do like this image it is a very nice off centered entry. The blue and white contrast each other nicely.

The one thing that does hurt the overall look is the "halo" effect that you got, which appears to be mostly along the rope and only slightly on the ring itself, as I look at it I can't decide if that was from an unsharpening mask or if that was the motion of it being tossed.

Anyhow it really is a cool image and nice composition, definately fit the challenge.
